WEATHER POLICY 

For all programs, lift tickets and sign-in will be at the outdoor ticket booth. Please ensure children are dressed warmly, with goggles, face buffs, and proper mitts. Helmets are mandatory for all lessons. For safety reasons, scarves are not permitted.

While it’s important to check the temperature and forecast before heading out, please remember that cold is relative: –15°C with sunshine can feel much warmer than –15°C on a snowy, windy day. There is no set temperature cut-off that determines if Ski School will run.

Programs will not be cancelled or rescheduled due to less than ideal weather or inclement conditions. In the event of extreme weather, Mount Evergreen will make daily decisions regarding operations based on localized conditions.If a lesson is cancelled due to weather, a refund will not be provided. Only one make-up lesson per season will be scheduled, on a date determined by Mount Evergreen Ski School

LIABILITY WAIVER

Ski and snowboard lessons are subject to your acceptance of our “Exclusion of Liability and Assumption of Risk Notice” which will affect your legal rights, including the right the sue. A Release of Liability Form (waiver), which includes an “Exclusion of Liability and Assumption of Risk Notice” must be read, and understood.

Misconduct or non-observation of the Skiers Responsibility Code

Mount Evergreen Ski and Recreation area is committed to an abuse-free work environment, characterized by respect and tolerance. Acts of violence or harassment committed against any individual(s) affiliated with this organization or the patrons of the facility are considered as unacceptable conduct within the context of the Ontario Health and Safety Code and the Canadian Human Rights Act. Any patrons conducting any form of violence, harassment, or other form of unacceptable behaviour will be asked to leave the property for a period of time to be determined based on previous offences and the severity of the action committed.

Inappropriate behaviour includes, but is not limited to:

• Threatening behaviour, such as shaking fists, destroying property, or throwing objects.
• Verbal or written threats, including any expression of intent to inflict harm.
• Harassment – any behaviour that demeans, embarrasses, humiliates, annoys, alarms or verbally abuses a person and that is known, or would be generally expected, to be unwelcome. This includes words, gestures, intimidation, bullying, or other inappropriate activities, including electronic communications generally disseminated.
• Verbal abuse such as swearing, insults, and slurs.
• Physical attacks.

REFUNDS

Weather-related cancellations:

• If a lesson is cancelled due to weather, a refund will not be provided.
• Only one make-up lesson per season will be scheduled, on a date determined by Mount Evergreen Ski School.

General refunds:

• Ski school registrations may be fully refunded (minus the administration fee) prior to the start of ski/snowboard lessons.
• A pro-rated refund may be issued if Mount Evergreen is notified prior to the start of the individual’s third lesson. The pro-rated refund will include the cost of each lesson attended plus the administration fee.
• An administration fee of $50.00 applies to all refunds.

Refunds for medical reasons:

• Refunds or make-up lessons will not be provided for seasonal colds or flus.
• A pro-rated refund may be considered at any time during the scheduled ski/snowboard school lessons if a medical condition or injury prevents participation.
• A doctor’s certificate must be provided stating the date, type of injury, and estimated recovery period.
• Medical conditions must prevent skiing for at least 30 consecutive days from the date of injury.
• Pre-existing injuries are not covered.
• Refunds will be assessed on a case-by-case basis by the Mount Evergreen Board of Directors.
