LESSONS & PROGRAMMING
For all programs, lift tickets and sign-in will be at the outdoor ticket booth. Please ensure children are dressed warm, with goggles, face buffs and proper mitts.
Helmets are mandatory for all lessons.
Programs will not be cancelled or rescheduled due to less than ideal weather or inclement conditions.
In the event of extreme weather conditions, the decision to limit operations will be made on a daily basis according to the localized conditions of Mount Evergreen.
Tiny Tots is Mt. Evergreens only program that offers one-on-one instruction. This program is designed for little tots who are ready for their first experience on skis. Our amazing instructors provide one-on-one teaching in a small group environment that focuses on the very beginner basics through snow play. Ski development will be individually geared to your child’s needs. Fun games and lots of smiles are our instructors’ focus. Tiny Tots is a great way to teach the ABC’s of skiing and is designed for little ones aged 3-5.

At Mount Evergreen we want your child’s first experience of skiing to be remembered as fun and safe! Kids in our Learn to Ski programs will be taught about safety on the slopes and the lifts, as well as learning the rules of the ski area. They will progress quickly as they learn new skills as skiers in a fun and supported environment, and of course, they will meet new friends on our “Magic Carpet”!
With their instructors’ children will learn through “Copy Cat” games, drills and fun adventures that are adapted to their age and ability. This program is for children 5-8.

Our Mount Evergreen intermediate ski program is designed for students who have completed out level one learn to ski program and are ready to take their skiing to the next level. Our certified instructors put the fun in fundamentals and will take your child’s skiing abilities to new heights…literally! Skiers will learn to tackle more challenging terrain, develop good solid parallel turns, navigate speed and get your family ready for their first trip to the mountains!
This program is designed for kids 7 through 12 who can confidently snowplow, stop/turn, control speed, have begun to link parallel turns, and can ride the T-bar independently.

Our Learn to Ski Fast program focuses on ski skill development and is a great transition for students having completed the Learn to Ski program.
Instructor (Coach H) Laurin Hummelbrunner, keeps the program fun and group-oriented. With over 30 years of level 3 ski instructing experience, he will take your child to their next level of skiing ability! This 6-week program is 1hr 15min long and students can expect to be introduced to beginner slalom courses by skiing whisker stubbies and smaller gates. The focus is on providing good stance, balance and edging skills through a series of fun ski adventures, drills and games. Each and every child is guaranteed success in this program!

The Intro to Terrain Park program is a recreational skill-development program for young skiers aged 6 and older who are interested in learning how to safely and confidently use terrain park features. This program is designed for skiers who are curious about freestyle skiing and want to
explore jumps and terrain features in a fun, supportive environment, without a focus on competition or long-term athlete development pathways.
Instruction focuses on building confidence, balance, and basic movement skills while introducing participants to terrain park etiquette, feature approach, and safe takeoffs and landings. This program emphasizes enjoyment, exploration, and fundamental skill development
appropriate for younger and newer freestyle skiers.
Program Focus
Throughout the six-week program, participants will work on:
- Safe terrain park awareness and etiquette
- Athletic stance, balance, and speed control
- Straight airs on small jumps
- Absorbing and extending over rollers and gentle terrain features
- Building confidence skiing through the terrain park in control
- This program provides a strong foundation for recreational freestyle skiing and prepares
interested athletes for more structured programs in the future.

The FUNdamentalz program is a foundational athlete development program for skiers aged 10
and older who are interested in exploring freestyle skiing as a sport and learning what
participation in the Freestyle Canada athlete development pathway looks like. This program is
intended for skiers who may be interested in future freestyle competition and focuses on
developing the core skills required across all freestyle disciplines.
Instruction uses freestyle terrain and features as training tools, with a strong emphasis on
structured progression, technical skill development, and safe movement patterns that support
long-term athlete development under the Freestyle Canada model.
FUNdamentalz focuses on foundational freestyle movement skills and does not include inverted
tricks, advanced rotations, or high-consequence terrain park features.
Program Focus
Across the three weekends, athletes will work on:
- Balance, edging, and speed control
- Absorption and extension over variable terrain
- Safe and controlled use of small jumps
- Introductory switch skiing, including switch takeoffs and landings
- Linking features smoothly with confidence and flow
Membership Requirement
All participants are required to purchase a Freestyle Canada club membership prior to
participating. This membership provides insurance coverage and supports athlete and coach
development through Freestyle Canada. Membership info can be found here.
Coach
The FUNdamentalz clinics will be coached by Quinn Haines, an active competitive freestyle
skier who competes at the provincial and national level. Quinn brings firsthand competitive
experience and a strong technical foundation to athlete development in a supportive, age-
appropriate environment.
Participant Requirements
- Minimum age: 10 years
- Confident skiing ability on intermediate and advanced groomed runs (e.g. Surprise,
Pete’s Fancy, Skyline) - Ability to ride a t-bar independently and repeatedly
- Comfortable skiing variable terrain, including small jumps
- Willingness to learn and practice skiing switch (backwards)
- Twin-tip skis are required
- Helmet required
The program will be three independent two day coached sessions, with a lunch break in between
during which participants may eat lunch or ski independently.
- Weekend 1: December 27–28, 2025
- Weekend 2: February 7–8, 2026
- Weekend 3: March 7–8, 2026
